Uli Jon Roth is well known as one of the most talanted and gifted guitar players of our time, but it doesn't stop there. He is also a marvelous composer, and from his lyrics, it is clear that he is also a great philosopher and writer. Ulrich Roth was born December 18:th, 1954 in Dusseldorf. He started playing guitar at the age of thirteen. His strongest musical influences were, and still are, the Classical Masters, as well as, Jimi Hendrix. Uli played in two bands, Dawn road and Blue Infinity, before joining Scorpions in the early 70:s. As far as I know, there are no recordings from these early bands, but I will ask Uli about it some day when I remember. After his departure from Scorpions, he formed his own band, Electric Sun, and recorded three albums, each uniquely special, each securing Uli's place in history as a true virtuoso and visionary. Uli always shows, without a doubt, what a great guitar player and composer he is.
